How does your Company data affect your account's regulatory settings?
To fully understand how your Company data affects your account's jurisdictional settings, please review the information below.
The Company data section of your Clym Control Center collects essential information that helps determine which rules and regulations apply to a specific website. These settings are critical for properly facilitating compliance with privacy, accessibility, and other laws that may depend on factors such as the organization's geographic location or the scale of its operations (e.g., the number of personal records processed or revenue).
The only field in the Generic settings section of your Company data that is displayed publicly is your Company Name. All other information remains within the Clym Control Center and is used solely to verify whether the organization meets the criteria defined by applicable laws. This ensures that the appropriate rules are applied to the website while keeping sensitive organizational details secure and private.

If certain fields in your Generic settings remain set as not specified, no specific industry-related rules will apply. Any changes in this section will update the settings in your Jurisdictions section to ensure they align with your adjustments. These updates may either add new rules or remove existing ones if we determine that the company no longer qualifies under certain criteria.
For example, if you indicate that your organization is an NGO or NPO, it may be excluded from being classified as a “business” under the CCPA. As a result, CCPA-related settings will no longer appear in your widget configuration.
The tabs Addresses, Contact information, DPO and representatives, Registration numbers, Bank accounts, and Links are dynamically configured based on the rules applied according to the organization’s geographic location. By default, global configurations make most of these fields optional. However, in certain countries, publishing specific details, such as a Bank Account, Email Address, or VAT Number, may be mandatory. Consequently, these fields can be optional, required, or entirely hidden, depending on local requirements.

Jurisdiction settings
Regulatory settings are applied based on where users are accessing your website from. For example, adjusting the settings for United States - Montana modifies how users from Montana see the widget or Governance portal when they visit your website. If a rule already exists, it can be modified. If no rule exists and your subscription permits, you can create a new custom rule. For subscriptions with limited features, the preview will automatically hide non-applicable categories to simplify the user interface and avoid confusion.
Add a new rule
You can add a new rule for the following categories:
1. General
This setting determines whether the widget launcher is visible based on the user's location and device type.

2. Data privacy
In this section, you can configure the privacy regulation settings, including widget settings, cookies, and requests.

3. Accessibility
Here, you can define whether accessibility features are available to users from that location.

4. Age gating
If you are enabling age gating on your website, you can configure rules around how this displays for your website visitors and where users are redirected if they do not meet certain age requirements.

5. Sanctions and restrictions
This section enables the creation of an access restriction wall for users from specific locations or those using a VPN.
- Block Access: Denies access to all users whose IP addresses match the specified country.
- Block Access Through VPN: Restricts access for users detected as using a VPN.
These settings provide enhanced control over user access based on location or connection type.

6. Whistleblowing
In this section, you can add whistleblowing case types for website visitors to choose from when submitting a new case through your Governance portal.

7. Content removal
In this section, you can add content removal case types for website visitors to choose from when submitting a new case through your Governance portal.

8. Security
In this section, you can add security case types for website visitors to choose from when submitting a new case through your Governance portal.
