How to enable Wiretapping on an existing chat service
Steps to take to set up Clym's Wiretapping solution on an existing chat widget service
Clym's Wiretapping solution helps organizations obtain explicit user consent before recording or monitoring conversations through technologies like chat services. Wiretapping consent requirements are separate from standard privacy and cookie consent, necessitating their own consent collection, management, and documentation processes. By enabling Wiretapping in your Control Center account, you can present your website visitors with a clear notification and consent flow before a chat session begins, helping support compliance with applicable wiretapping regulations while promoting transparency and trust.
Setting up Wiretapping is an easy 3-step process:
1. Sign in to your Clym Control Center account
You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click Sign in from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to Clym's home page and click Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Access the Manage tab
From the left-side menu, select Manage. You will then see a list of all your domains, each with its unique settings.

Expand the Platform section and select Embedded content.

3. Enable Wiretapping
Toggle to the Chat tab. From the Providers field, select the service for which you would like to enable Wiretapping on. Toggle on Requires Wiretapping consent. To display a custom message to users regarding wiretapping consent, toggle on Notify users and customize the messaging to your website visitors. Click Save.
