Cookie - a cookie is a piece of data from a website that is stored within a web browser that the website can retrieve at a later time. Cookies are used to tell the server that users have returned to a particular website.
Cookie Policy – a cookie policy is a list of all the cookies and trackers in use on your website, made available to visitors as part of your website’s broader privacy policy or as a separate subpage.
Script – a website script is a piece of code that is directly embedded into your website. It is invisible to users on the website itself, however it can add information to your website or pass along this information to a third-party.
Domain – a domain is a website address on which you are implementing Clym services.
Embed code – the scripts provided by Clym for implementation on your website/domain.
Scan widget – the scan widget is a tool provided by Clym that you can use to verify your website’s compliance.
Registration widget – a tool that will allow your customers verify their website compliance.
DSAR – Data Subject Access Requests give consumers control over their personal information stored by organizations, from access to data and requesting information on stored data, to requesting information on the data safeguards the organization provides.
Regulation – the rules that govern the management of cookies and private data of the users. These can be particular to specific world areas/regions: GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation (EU), CCPA – California Consumer Privacy Act (CA, US), LGPD – General Data Protection Law (BR), CDPA – Copyright, Designs and Patents Act (VA, US), etc.
DPO – the Data Protection Officer has the primary role of ensuring that the organization processes the personal data of its staff, customers, providers, or any other individuals (data subjects) in compliance with the applicable data protection rules.
Opt-in - An Opt-In cookie requires a website visitor to take a clear positive, affirmative action, such as checking a tick-box or another similar action. The intention is to prove the user made a clear indication they consent to the processing of their personal data.
Opt-out - An Opt-out cookie allows a website visitor to block cookies from being dropped on their device from specific websites. These cookies let the website know not to drop any cookies, including third party cookies, on the user's device
