January 2026 - Vietnam, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island states of America
As of January 2026, some additional privacy laws will take effect. Here’s what you need to know about the new rules and how your Clym widget will be handling them.
Vietnam
What is the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL)?
From January 1, 2026, Vietnam’s first comprehensive privacy law will become effective. It requires explicit opt-in consent, bans bundled consents, and applies to any organization (domestic or foreign) processing data of people in Vietnam.

- Support full ARCO-style rights (access, rectification, cancellation, objection, withdrawal)
United States - Indiana
What is the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act (INCDPA)
Indiana’s Consumer Data Protection Act becomes effective on January 1, 2026. It introduces requirements for companies to manage data responsibly, protect consumer rights, and provide transparency in data handling practices.
How will it affect your Clym Widget?

- Support access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out requests for Indiana users.
- Provides the option to submit opt-out for sales and targeted advertising requests, and notifies you of any requests received.
United States - Kentucky
What is the Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act (KCDPA)?
Kentucky’s Consumer Data Protection Act becomes effective on January 1, 2026. It’s comprehensive data privacy legislation, which outlines data rights for Kentucky consumers and obligations for businesses that collect or process their personal data.
How will this affect your Clym Widget?
Clym Widget will be updated to let Kentucky users submit access, deletion, portability, as well as opt-out requests (targeted ads, sales, and profiling).
United States - Rhode Island
What is the Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act (RIDTPPA)?
Rhode Island’s Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act becomes effective on January 1, 2026. It establishes comprehensive data privacy standards, granting consumers control over their personal data and requiring businesses to provide transparency regarding data collection, processing, and sales practices.

- Provide options to submit opt-out requests for targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling.
United States - Oregon and Delaware
Both the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act and the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act require recognition of universal opt-out mechanisms (UOOMs) effective January 1, 2026, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, similar to Colorado and California.
How will this affect your Clym Widget?
Your Clym widget will:
- Detect and honor GPC signals for visitors from Oregon and Delaware.
- Treat a GPC signal as a request to opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising
You may need to update your Privacy Notice if you operate in any of these locations, so that you include the required information on data collection practices.
