How to set up a Sanction on your website
Steps to take to set up a Sanction requirement for your website
In an evolving regulatory landscape, businesses must stay vigilant in navigating international sanctions and regulatory frameworks that vary widely by region. This complexity emphasizes the need for robust geo-restriction control measures to ensure compliance with these mandates, as well as protect your business from potential legal repercussions.
By utilizing Clym's widget for geo-restriction control, businesses can effectively manage user access based on geographic locations. This proactive approach not only supports compliance efforts but also safeguards your website from unwarranted visitors.
Please note: Based on the industry that your business operates in, there may be Sanctions and other restrictions that are automatically configured based on your Company Data. Before manually configuring sanctions or other restrictions, please first edit your Company Data.
Adding a rule is an easy 3-step process:
1. Sign in to your Clym Control Center account
You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click Sign in from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to Clym's home page and click Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Access the Manage tab
From the left side menu, access the Manage tab. Click to expand the Property settings section and select Jurisdictions. Click the pencil icon next to the jurisdiction where you would like to create a sanction rule.

From the window that opens, expand the Sanctions and other restrictions section and click Add rule.

3. Create a new rule
From the window that opens, click Sanctions and other restrictions to create a rule all users from this jurisdiction, regardless of the device they are visiting your website from. To create a new rule only for users accessing your website from a specific type of device, click Mobile, Tablet, or Desktop.

To block access to all users from this location, toggle on Block access. To block access to VPN's from this location, toggle on Block access through VPN. Click Save.
