Steps to take to scan your website for data privacy and accessibility results and how to understand your scores
Clym's new and improved website scanner can analyze your website's cookies and scripts, assess compliance with global data privacy regulations, and provide an accessibility score for your website's content. Our scanner can be used on your desktop and mobile devices, for convenience no matter where you are.
As a customer, the scanner offers insight into how your website can better comply with data privacy and accessibility regulations. The report can also help you identify which cookies and scripts are running on your website. As a partner, the scanner can be used to educate your customers about data privacy and accessibility regulations, pinpoint gaps in their website's compliance, and showcase your ability to offer solutions through your partnership with Clym. This article provides guidance on how to access and use the scanner, and how to interpret your results.
Using the scanner is an easy 3-step process:
1. Access the scanner
To begin, access the scanner. This can be found on clym.io, or may be made available on a partner's website.
2. Run the scanner
Enter your website's domain and click Scan my site. Please wait while the scanner works to scan your website. This may take up to a minute for your results to be available.
3. View results
At the top of the report, you will be given an overall comprehensive score that addresses both data privacy and accessibility. You will be categorized as having high risk, moderate risk, or low risk, with a score out of 10 total points. This score analyzes whether there are data privacy or accessibility tools running and native elements of the website itself, taking into account regulations across the globe. After reviewing all components, the scanner provides an average score that is reflected out of 10 total points.
Below your main score, there are three sections that you can toggle between to get more information on Accessibility, Privacy, and Scripts & Cookies. Each section outlines the items that contributed to your overall score. You can click any item listed within a section to expand the details.
For Accessibility, Clym's scanner will search for an accessibility tool, such as the Clym widget, where users can set their preferences. Additionally, the scanner will review your website's readability and accessibility for factors such as contrast, fonts, formatting, and navigation.
For Privacy, Clym's scanner will search for a data privacy compliance tool, such as the Clym widget, where users can accept or reject cookies and scripts, submit data subject requests, and more. The scanner will also evaluate your website's compliance with data privacy regulations worldwide. 
For Scripts & Cookies, the scanner automatically detects all scripts and cookies running on your website and provides a report, listing all scripts and cookies, including their name, type, category, "set by," domain, and action.
The scanner always produced up-to-date results. Please note that regulations may have changed or been updated since your last scan, and may be reflected in your new scan report results.
