Steps to take to enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your Clym Portal settings
Want to learn more about Global Privacy Control (GPC) and how it may affect your website? Visit our blog for more information.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a standard that allows internet users to easily convey their privacy preferences across the web with just one action rather than multiple. GPC enables users to communicate their desire to avoid being tracked or having their data sold or shared directly to websites and online services. In the settings of your Clym widget, you can enable GPC, giving your website visitors more choices. Enabling GPC is an easy 3-step process:
1. Sign in to your Clym Portal
You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click Sign in from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to Clym's home page and click on Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Open your Website Settings
From the left side menu, select Website Settings. From here, you will see a list of all your domains, each with its unique settings.
Click the settings wheel next to the domain that you would like to change the default language for. This will open the website settings for that specific domain.
3. Enable GPC
From the Website settings menu, select the Geographical Settings drop-down arrow to expand the options. Click the three dots next to the jurisdiction that you want to edit. Click the clipboard and pencil icon to Edit.
Click the drop-down arrow next to Widget to open the full settings menu. Toggle GPC Enabled On. Optional: If you would like to allow users to override the GPC setting, toggle GPC User Override allowed. Click Submit.
