Steps to take to see if a data subject request, or a DSR, has been verified by the user
When a user submits a data subject request, or a DSR, on your website, they will be asked to verify their identity through a verification email process. Once a request has been verified, your team will receive an email notification that you have a new request. You will then be able to edit their request in the Clym admin. This process helps to eliminate spam and save your team time responding to legitimate and confirmed requests.
Checking the verification status of your DSRs is an easy 3-step process:
- Sign in to your Clym Portal
- Open your Data Subject Requests page
- View your data subject requests verification status
1. Sign in to your Clym Portal
You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click Sign in from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to Clym's home page and click on Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Open your Data Subject Requests page
From the left side menu, select Data Subject Requests
.
3. View your data subject requests verification status
Once the page has opened, you can quickly view a user's verification status by hovering over their name and email. A green dot will indicate that they have verified their request. A yellow dot will indicate that their request has not yet been verified.
Click on a user's request to view its verification status. Then click Request status to open the status of their request.
Please note: Once a user submits a DSR, they will asked to verify their identity by verifying their request via email. Clym will send the user a verification email.
Once the user has verified their email address, the request will be editable.
