Steps to take to review and change the regulation that applies to a jurisdiction
Each data privacy regulation across the globe is different, meaning that users from different regions of the world are subject to different rights and regulations. In order to be compliant, it is important that you offer users the correct settings based on their jurisdiction. When your Clym account is first created, your widget is automatically set up to be compliant for each location and regulation, so that you don't have to worry about setting each one up on your own. However, if you ever want to make changes to meet your organization's specific requirements, Clym allows you to make changes as needed.
Changing the regulation for a jurisdiction is an easy 3-step process:
1. Sign in to your Clym Portal
You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click Sign in from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to Clym's home page and click on Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Open your Website Settings
From the left side menu, select Website Settings. From here, you will see a list of all your domains, each with its unique settings.
Click the settings wheel next to the domain that you would like to change the default language for. This will open the website settings for that specific domain.
3. Change the regulation
From the Website settings menu, select the Geographical Settings drop-down arrow to expand the options. Click the three dots next to the jurisdiction that you want to edit. Click the clipboard and pencil icon to Edit.
In the pop-up window, click the drop-down menu next to Jurisdiction to expand the selections. Click the Regulation drop-down to access the options, and select the correct regulation for that jurisdiction. Click Submit.
