# How to set up Global Privacy Platform (GPP) signals

## Steps to take to set up GPP signal frameworks on a jurisdiction

The Global Privacy Platform (GPP) is a standardized protocol developed by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) to facilitate the transmission of privacy, consent, and consumer choice signals from websites and applications to advertising technology providers. Designed to help advertisers, publishers, and technology vendors adapt to diverse regulatory requirements across global markets, the GPP ensures compliance with privacy laws by supporting multiple privacy frameworks, including the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF), IAB Canada TCF, the Multi-State Privacy Agreement (MSPA) US National string, and various US state-specific privacy strings.

The GPP accommodates different consent models, such as "opt-in" frameworks like TCF, where users must actively provide consent before proceeding, and "opt-out" frameworks like MSPA US National, where users can trigger a consent layer via an embedded link. By providing a technical mechanism to communicate user consent and data preferences, the GPP enables vendors to understand processing permissions and restrictions under applicable privacy regulations, supporting both user transparency and vendor compliance.

In the Clym Control Center, GPP is enabled within the Jurisdiction settings with a simple toggle.


Enabling GPP on a jurisdiction is an easy 3-step process:

#### 1. Sign in to your Clym Control Center account

You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click **Sign in** from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to [__Clym's home page__](https://clym.io/) and click **Sign in** in the upper right-hand corner.

#### 2. Access the Manage tab

From the left-side menu, select **Manage**. Click **Property settings** to expand the section, which will open to the **Jursdictions** settings. Search for the jurisdiction that you would like to create the security rule for. Click the **pencil icon** to edit the jurisdiction.

Click to expand the **Data privacy** section and then click the **pencil icon** next to the regulation to set up **Signal frameworks**.

#### 3. Enable GPP

From the menu options, select the matching signal from the **Signal frameworks** field. Click **Save**.

To view the **Signals** configured for your domain, expand the **Data privacy** section in your side menu, and select **Signals**.
