How to enable implicit consent
Implicit Consent allows Clym to record a visitor's default consent state before they interact with your consent banner. Instead of waiting for a visitor to accept or reject cookies, Clym captures their initial consent status, which is either accepted (opt-in) or rejected (opt-out), based on the jurisdiction they are visiting your website from. This helps establish a complete consent record from the moment a visitor arrives on your website.
This feature is available only for plans with the Implicit Consent option enabled and is particularly useful for organizations working toward compliance with regulations such as the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA). Once enabled in your Clym Control Center account, Implicit Consent is automatically applied to all new website visitors.
Enabling Implicit Consent is an easy 3-step process:
1. Sign in to your Clym Control Center
You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click Sign in from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to Clym's home page and click Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Access the Manage tab
From the left side menu, access the Manage tab. Click to expand the Platform section. From the side menu, select Widget or select Customize from the Widget section on the main page.
3. Enable implicit consent
Click into the Privacy tab and toggle on Capture implicit consent for new visitors.
