How to check a data subject request's verification status
Steps to take to see if a data subject request, or a DSR, has been verified by the user
When a user submits a data subject request, or a DSR, on your website, they will be asked to verify their identity through a verification email process. Once a request has been verified, your team will receive an email notification that you have a new request. You will then be able to edit their request in the Clym admin. This process helps to eliminate spam and save your team time responding to legitimate and confirmed requests.
Checking the verification status of your DSRs is an easy 3-step process:
- Sign in to your Clym Control Center account
- Open your Data Subject Requests page
- View your data subject requests verification status
1. Sign in to your Clym Control Center account
You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click Sign in from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to Clym's home page and click Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Open your Data Subject Requests page
From the left side menu, select Operate to open your Data subject requests page.

3. View your data subject requests verification status
Once the page has opened, you can quickly view a user's verification status in the Status column. A PENDING request will be displayed in the color GREY and indicates that a user has submitted a data subject request, but has not yet verified their request via the automatic email that they will receive after submitting a request. Once the user verifies their request, the status will change to OPEN, which will be displayed in the color ORANGE. Once you begin working on a request, you can toggle the request status to IN PROGRESS to assist you with keeping track of active requests. In Progress requests will be displayed in the color BLUE. Once you have completed a data subject request, you can then move the request to CLOSED, which will be indicated by the color GREEN.

Please note: Once a user submits a DSR, they will asked to verify their identity by verifying their request via email. Clym will send the user a verification email.
