# How to change your sign in method


## Steps to take to change your sign-in method to a magic link or password

Clym gives you two main ways to sign into the [Partner Portal](https://partners.clym.io/):

* **Magic link:** the default option to sign into the [Partner Portal](https://partners.clym.io/), simplifying the process for your users, and helping to stay secure by requesting email verification
* **Password:** users can sign in using an email and password combination

Changing your authentication method is an easy 3-step process:

* [Select the password option](#3-3-change-the-authentication-method)

### 1. Sign in to the Partner Portal

You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click **Sign in** from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to the [Partner Portal](http://partners.clym.io/) to sign in.

### 2. Open your security settings

In the top right-hand corner, click the drop-down arrow next to the person icon to open your account settings menu. Click **Security**.

### 3. Change the authentication method

In the pop-up window, use the drop-down menu to select your **Authentication method**. The options are **email** (magic link) and **password**. If you would like to require two-factor authentication, toggle this option on and choose where you would like to receive your authentication code. Click **Save**.

**Make sure you set up a secure password for your account using uppercase and lowercase characters, numbers, and special characters.**
