# How to change the status of a case

## Steps to update the status of a user-submitted case as you progress through the case

With the simple click of a button, you can easily update the status of a user-submitted case from "Open" to "In Progress" and eventually to "Closed." This process applies across various case types, including accessibility issue reports, bounty hunting cases, content takedown requests, and whistleblowing reports. The status transition process helps to track the progress of each case and ensures that all necessary actions are taken to resolve the issue. Whether addressing accessibility concerns, investigating security vulnerabilities through bounty hunting, removing harmful content, or managing sensitive whistleblowing reports, each case type follows a simple, structured process to move through the stages of resolution.

Updating a case status is an easy 3-step process:

* [Sign in to your Clym Control Center account](#4-1-sign-in-to-the-clym-portal)
* [Access the Operate tab](#4-2-open-your-case-management-page)
* [Update a case status](#4-3-update-a-case-status)

#### 1. Sign in to the Clym Control Center account

You should have received a magic link in your initial onboarding email. Please click **Sign in** from the email to get started. Alternatively, navigate to [Clym's home page](https://clym.io) and click **Sign in** in the upper right-hand corner.
