Clym Tag Manager

Overview of the Clym Tag Manager and how it helps to manage services on your website

Whether you are familiar with how tag managers work or not, Clym's Tag Manager helps to simplify the process of managing all of the scripts and services that are running on your website. A tag manager is a tool that helps you manage and update tags, which are small pieces of code or tracking snippets, on your website, without needing to directly edit the site's code. Tags are used for things like tracking website analytics, running marketing campaigns, or collecting user behavior data.

Clym Tag Manager allows you to add, update, or remove scripts (such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, etc) seamlessly within the Clym Portal. When you have added scripts using Clym's Tag Manager, these scripts will only be injected into the website once the user has provided consent for the respective service.

If you use this option, it is important to make sure that you only add this script/service to your Clym Portal account. This means that you will want to make sure that the script embed code is not also placed in your website's source code or another tag manager like Google Tag Manager. When you add the script to your Clym Portal, you are essentially telling the portal to manage this code for you. If a script were to be added in multiple places, you might end up with duplicate versions of the same script running. Duplicate execution can cause several issues. For instance, the script might load multiple times, leading to inaccurate tracking, increased load times for your website, or even errors in how the data is collected. This is why it is essential to follow the guideline of only placing this script in your Clym Tag Manager, and ensuring it is not added elsewhere.
